OPEN EUROPEAN KYOKUSHIN KARATE CHAMPIONSHIPS 2023 IBK, WKKO, Kamakura organized the Open European Championship Kyokushin Karate in The Hague Netherlands for the 31st time. A tournament with the infamous title: the hardest tournament in Europe. Full Contact Karate fighting in Kyokushin, Shidokan and Combat Karate styles. The fights took place in a ring, so escaping the mat is impossible. No gloves are used and grabbing and clinching is allowed split second. The tournament was led by Kancho Gerard Gordeau, Renshi RP and Sensei Senol. Accompanied by a good referee team from the WKKO / SKN. There were teams from the Netherlands, Morocco, Belgium, Germany, Poland, Japan, Iran, Hungary and Italy, of which 10 Dojo's of the WKKO organization. There were kids, juniors and of course senior divisions. After an explanation from Sensei Senol, the program started around 10:15 am and ended satisfactorily around 5:00 pm. Renshi RP and Kancho Gordeau were the main referees with their combined experience spanning over 100 years. The refereeing team was in top form and there were no accidents or serious injuries. The fights were brutal in all categories. Visitors received a free t-shirt designed by Renshi RP and Kancho Gordeau. The day became a real Budo day. So it is possible. A few hundred people friendly crowd. Merchandise stands. Old acquaintances, colleagues and friends meet around the ring and the atmosphere was great. Thank you to all fighters and participants.
