A lot of negative stories are told about Jon Bluming, about his Karate skills, belt and rank sale activities and about his stories about Mas Oyama.
First: Jon Bluming is a military veteran and because of that i respect him a lot. He did, what others did not.
Second: Jon Bluming has always been nice to me. We trained a couple of times together at the Jon Bluming Dojo on the Dutch Marine Corps base in Doorn Netherlands. And we went to Japan together in 2006, were we had a good time.
Third: Yes his standup Karate skills were old fashioned and very limited, but he was a very strong man and his Judo skills were of a very high level. In the old days he trained hard in muscular training and in throwing and grappling skills. But the best thing he did was his allround way of thinking. Combining arts together, something that's also in Dutch style Kickboxing. And Bluming did the same for Full Contact Karate, leading the path to free fight etc.
It's this way of Allround Fighting we still practice and develop in present day WKKO Kenpokaikan.
